About the Process
Each intake requires about 3.5 hours from the first cut to the last cleaning step. All intakes are ported with air tools using various cutting bits and a two stage sanding process followed by a high speed polishing stage. All intakes are degreased and scrubbed and then fully cleaned with water before drying. Prior to packaging, all intakes are cleaned again with high pressure air to ensure a product that is ready to bolt on upon arrival.
Rates and Options
Current rates are $275 for LS2 Intake porting with an exchange manifold.
We have 4 basic options to make the transaction as convenient as possible for you.
Option #1. Remove your intake manifold and ship it to LS2 Port Works via the shipper of your choice (FEDEX, UPS, US Mail, DHL, etc.) and select the speed of service you desire (Next Day, 3 Day, Ground, etc). Include a return shipping slip and it will be ported and on its way back to you right away- current ship time is typically four days after I receive it.
Option #2. Buy a new or used intake and have it drop shipped to LS2 Port Works for porting. Or you may elect to have me purchase the intake for you and handle the entire transaction. Contact me for current new intake pricing and to discuss the various methods and cost of shipment.
Option #3. I ship you a ported intake from my inventory for $320 plus a $250 core charge that is refundable upon receipt of a good core intake. My standard shipping method is FEDEX Ground and is included in the price (continental US only). The ported intake ships to you with a return shipping tag enclosed so you have an easier time of preparing yours to come back to me. You simply install the ported one and put the core back in the box and drop it off at the shipment depot with the return label affixed. It doesn't get any easier than this one unless...
Option #4. You can come by the shop and we can change it here - No shipping, no wait, no core fee, just $75 for installation and a free soda pop with all the horsepower talk you can stand.
Methods of Payment
The preferred method of payment is Paypal as it is very fast and reliable. Money orders and cashiers checks are also accepted and receive a 5% discount. Cash (in person only please) and personal checks are also accepted with a 5% discount. Personal checks must clear the bank before shipment will occur.
Core Return Requirements
As this is a core exchange based business, I am forced to set rules on core returns. Cores must be return shipped in a timely manner to receive a full core refund. The core "clock" starts when the ported part(s) depart my local shipping depot (I.e FEDEX, USPS, UPS, etc) in transit to the customer delivery address. The core return is considered "RETURNED" when it is scanned in by the carrier at the customers return shipping point (ie FEDEX, USPS, UPS, etc). This policy ensures that you are given a minimum of 21 days with the parts in your possession to install them without incurring a core fee penalty. The core fee penalty gates are listed below:
Core returned within 1-30 days: Up to full core refund given contingent only on core condition.
Core Returned within 31-45 days: Up to 80% of core refund given contingent on core condition.
Core returned within 46-60 days: Up to 50% of core refund given contingent on core condition.
Core returned after more than 60 days: No core refunds after 60 days.
Core Refunds
Core Refunds of the full $250 amount are given upon receipt of a good stock intake manifold. It is important that the top center portion of the intake manifold be in very good shape without scratches as this is the part of the intake that is visible between the Fuel Rail Covers on all car installations. Typically, all ported intakes are low mileage as they are core returns from low mileage cars. I maintain a "95% or better" condition level in my exchange pool. As long as there is no significant cosmetic issue with the top of the intake (the portion not concealed by fuel rail covers) and all the vacuum port tubes are not damaged the core refund will be for the full $250. To date, there have only been three customers issued partial refunds due to excessive scratches/damage.
